In 1978 I had a near death experience where I left my body and went through a misty veil. It was a dentist appointment in which I was having two of my jaw teeth removed. After the experience, I realized something significant had happened but didn't have a clue what it was called. That was when I started searching for something to explain what happened. I found some books on near death experiences and that was when I found a name for what happened. Mine was a typical and full blown experience.
Many years have passed but the experience is never far from my thoughts. I found that volunteering with hospice was a great way to help other people who were about to go to the other side. However, the significance of the meaning of the experience fades from time to time as I live my every day life. While it has made me more though think about things differently, I still live with all the problems of just living.
My purpose of starting this blog is an attempt to keep me focused on the experience and the realization that we are all a part of something much bigger and deeper than just living our lives.
If anyone has had the experience, I'd love to hear from you. If anyone has any questions, I'd love to share.
Mike
